It opens roads for people who aspire to ride on the road less travelled, and off it too, going beyond their day-to-day commuting needs. Functionally, its non-intimidating spartan design, a flat torque curve. accessible seat height and long suspension travel alongside the ease of ownership. make the Himalayan is an extremely versatile motorcycle that is adept for long rides while equally being the definitive choice to navigate our urban jungles. We believe the motorcycle will open gates for a new segment of customers for Royal Enfield in Malaysia”

We got a first ride on the Himalaya during the launch, at first glance the Himalaya looks like the 1980ies Paris Dakar BMW R80 GS, the 24hp 411cc may not have much power but its pretty smooth as we took a ride around the Royal Enfield showroom, they even prepared wooden pallets as obstacles for the test, the Himalaya rides though them pretty easy on gear two, the suspension felt quite soft damping while going over the wooden pallets, while these quick test couldn’t give alot of feed back we hope to take the Himalayan offroad and put the Himalayan to the test whereby the Himalayan will be at home.
