• Fabio Quartararo youngest Pole-sitter
• Marc Marquez 46th win in MotoGP and leads in to European rounds
No fairy tale ending for Petronas Yamaha SRT’s Fabio Quartararo race as it ended prematurely, when a gear shifter problem forced the poleman to retire while in second position. Fabio Quartararo who became the youngest ever pole sitter in MotoGP history while teammate Franco Morbidelli rounds off an excellent team double with a sensational second position in qualifying but the fairy tale was a bittersweet one for Petronas Yamaha SRT. After riding for much of the race in the top three, Franco Morbidelli finished in 7th place.

His 1’38.051 on Lap 15 of the race secured Marquez a new race lap record at the Jerez circuit.
Monster Energy Yamaha rider, Maverick Viñales came out fighting till the end and took the last podium spot.
