Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM), producer of Malaysia’s popular Yamaha motorcycle brand, celebrates another significant milestone by rolling out in style a symbolic 4-millionth motorcycle at its Sungei Buloh manufacturing facility today.
Present at the grand event were Mr Katsuaki Watanabe, Executive Vice President and representative Director of Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd., Japan and Dato’Jim Khor, Managing Director of HLYM.
Dato’ Jim Khor acknowledged the contribution of HLYM’s staff, the nationwide network of Yamaha dealers, and also the support of its business partner Yamaha Motor Company, Japan.
”The unwavering commitment of our dedicated team, from factory personnel to the sales force, vendors, partners and our loyal network of dealers across the country have made this significant event possible. l also wish to make special mention of Yamaha Motor Company, Japan and thank them for their continuous and much-valued support,” he said.
From the day the ’first’ motorcycle, the RX100, debuted in 1979, HLYM has overseen factory expansions, the launch of new models, assembly line improvements and the introduction of various enrichment programmes for the benefit of its staff and dealers.
in 1994, HLYM created history when the first millionth localIy-assembled motorcycle rolled off its manufacturing line. The Company has since grown by leaps and bounds, emerging as the market leader, backed by a strong and extensive dealer network.
just recently, the company had also rolled out its transformation programme designed to take customer experience up to the next level.
