Yamaha Motor held a PAN ASEAN launch of the 2017 Yamaha AEROX / NVX, which the AEROX model will be for Thailand and Indonesia market while NVX is for Malaysia and Vietnam market. Gracing the launch during the Shell Malaysia Grand Prix was Yamaha Movistar’s Valentino Rossi, who unveil the aggressive looking NVX in the Yamaha Race Blue colours.
Based on the same engine like the Yamaha NMax’s 155cc Blue Core engine, liquid-cooled, SOHC four-valve single with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA), but with more enhance features added, the NVX is not a replacement, instead part of a range of Yamaha scooters with Blue Core series.
The aggressive looking NVX comes with full LCD display, 14-inch rims which will attract a new generation of riders with a keyless start system for the premium model and an engine start-stop system when the engine is idle reduce petrol consumption and emission at traffic lights is a new feature. Weights at 116 kg.
Under the seat has 25-litre storage compartment which has ample space to put a full face helmet and 4.5-litre tank capacity.
The Yamaha Aerox / NVX will be Thailand and Vietnam this December, while Indonesia will see the official launch of the NVX in January 2017 and other markets, including Malaysia will be launched after Indonesia. The was no indicative pricing for Malaysia as yet, but we guess the NVX will be a more premium price to the hot selling NMax. Current price for the Yamaha NMax is RM8812 including GST.
