MotoGP rider Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi today is better known nicknamed The Doctor.
But who would have thought, Rossi also has another nickname that is no less unique while still competing in 125cc. Rossi’s unique nickname is Rossifumi. Rossifumi Valentino Rossi was a result it is very simple. The nickname was given by a colleague of the driver who is now 37 years old. Rossi Rossifumi dubbed by colleagues as Rossi was impressed with the Japanese rider Norifumi ‘Norick’ Abe.
Rossi was amazed by Abe Abe because it was competing with Michael Dohan and Kevin Scwantz 500cc class when he was 17 years old.
The original name Norifumi Abe Abe is then co-create the nickname Rossifumi Rossi took the name ‘Fumi’ by Abe and add it to the ‘Rossi’ on the front.
In the end Rossi and Abe became teammates in 2004. When Abe and Rossi was equally defend Yamaha. Rossi was in Gauloises Fortuna Yamaha team while Abe is in Gauloises Tech 3 Yamaha Team. Now nickname Rossifumi is rarely used by Valentino Rossi.
