Dato Sri Liow Tiong Lai, the Road Transport Minister launched the Kawasaki Road Safety Campaign at the Sg Besi Toll, here today. In conjunction with the coming Chinese New Year festive holidays, many motorist will be embarking their journey back to home town.
Kawasaki Motor Malaysia Sdn Bhd (KMMSB) will give a 16 point check on any motorcycle regardless of brand and model, free of charge. KHI Helmets will provide free helmet exchange for used or worn out helmets. Tokio Marine will also provide a rain jacket after each 16 point check.
Present at the launch of the Kawasaki Road Safety Campaign was Mr Wee Hong of Malaysia Motorcycle & Scooter Association President and MMSDA committee members. for MMSDA this is the 17th time organizing this safety campaign, thou its a first for Kawasaki Motor Malaysia (KMM). Raja Datuk Hanipuddin Raja Datuk Nong Chik, Exective Chairman of KMMSB, Dato Jeffrey Lim General Manager and Director, Satoru Akitsu, Production & Technical Director of KMMSB, Kenji Fujita Executive Director AEON Credit Services Malaysia and Mr Lee Swee Chang of KHI Helmets.
Also present at the launch are representives of Jabatan Pengankutan Jalan (JPJ), Royal Police (PDRM), PLUS, JKJR, Tokio Marine, Bridgestones whom are co-organisers of this campaign.
Dato Sri Liow Tiong Lai said in his speech the accident rate a day is 80 per day, and it is the Ministry responsibility to reduce these accidents.
