A road safety campaign was held in conjunction with coming Chinese New Year celebration organised with Malaysia Motorcycle and Scooter Dealers Association (MMSDA) with Kawasaki Motors (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd,
It has become a tradition when approaching the Malaysian festive celebration, Kawasaki Motors with cooperation with Bridgestone Tyre, KHI Helmets and AEON hosted a safety campaign and with 16 part safety check-up for any motorcycle brand and model for free.
The Transport Minster Y.B. Dato ‘ Sri Liow Tiong Lai, officiated the campaign and because express his concern for the motorcyclist which has the highest fatality figures, the number of deaths due to accident for 2016 is 7,152 fatality and of that amount, 4,485 fatality are motorcyclist and pillion riders. It clearly shows that motorcyclist are the most high risk road users.
The real reason for these statistics is from other road users of the highway itself, such as driving over the speed limit, changing paths without giving signals or passing signals, racing, fatigue, using mobile phones while driving and so on.
