Benelli’s new RFS 150i is a race-spec underbone sport moped that gives riders more:
With over 100 years of experience in building motorcycle, the legendary Benelli engineering and Italian racing style, compact a 149 cc engine with more horsepower and durability on RFS with 15.5-horsepower, SOHC, 3-spark, 6-speed liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine.
Racing technology in the form of 41mm race-type inverted front suspension, first in any moped in Malaysia as a standard suspension and Benelli’s all-new B3SP three-spark technology for maximum power and low emission.
Just the thing, riders need to zip through city traffic, straighten twisty back roads, or burn laps at the racetrack. RFS engine makes an impressive 15.5 horsepower at 8500 rpm. It uses a trio of spark plugs, along with the bike’s ECU and fuel-injection system, to modify engine timing and plug usage to maximize power, keep engine temperatures low, optimize fuel efficiency, and minimize emissions.
Benelli’s new B3SP ‘3-Spark’ system is a primary reason the RFS 150i’s engine is so flexible. It uses a trio of spark plugs, along with the bike’s ECU and fuel-injection system, to modify engine timing and plug usage to maximize power, keep engine temperatures low, optimize fuel efficiency, and minimize emissions. Routing those minimal emissions rearward is a modern and racy exhaust system, which offers great cornering clearance, looks right, and makes soul-stirring sounds.
The chassis and body designs are up to the task as well, with beautifully shaped and highly aerodynamic body panels bolting to a sturdy steel framework that holds a beefy rear swingarm (with single shock) and a race-spec inverted fork. Lightweight cast-alloy wheels in 17-inch dimensions hold front 70/90 tires with rear 120/70 and 2 port racing-type disc brakes for stopping power.
LCD gauge cluster gives the rider plenty of information while LED headlight illuminates the way forward, but for us, we think that the headlamp design don’t really go with the overall aerodynamic bodywork of the RFS. Also a dry weight of 126kg, it’s a bit heavy for a moped but Benelli claims that RFS has superb handling, indeed our first impression of the RFS is what riders want to go out to play.
The factor of the RFS 150i is its affordable price and value for money, top-shelf engine, chassis technology with racy styling with an affordable price.
The RFS 150i is available in four exotic color combinations: Yellow, Red, Blue and Matte Grey (SE), retails for RM 6,988 for standard and RM 7,338 for the Special Edition (excluding GST).
