We got our first ride on the BMW G310R at BMW Test Ride Gotong Jaya last weekend. We couldn’t wait for the official review bike from BMW Motorrad.
The entry level G310R, lightweight, nimble handling, attractively styled G 310 R will definitely appeal to novice riders. Having riding a 900cc bike to Gotong Jaya, then jumping on the G310R for a round down to Genting Sempah then back up again.
Immediately we could feel the nimbleness of the G310R and smooth but less engine vibration. Riding down has less traffic but many bikes were also going down, I was giving the G310R about 80% on the throttle, so I pass every rider I could see, even they were riding bikes like 3 times the capacity to the small single cylinder. I’m pleased to say that the G310R is a really fun bike to ride even for seasoned rider. Stopped for a few selfie shots but that just it, didn’t get a chance to have photos in the corners.
300mm disc front brakes comes with Bybre ABS provided excellent braking when negotiating sharp corners. BMW claimed 33hp @ 7500 rpm with 28 NM @ 7500rpm on this 313cc single cylinder engine.
Hopefully can get the G310R for a couple of days for a more detail road test! And the G310GS also looks promising to go for an off-road excursion.
Braking is done by Brembo M4.32 callipers squeezing 320mm rotors with rear, and three levels of ABS. That’s not top-tier Brembo stuff, but for a 110-hp bike, the brakes are more than enough.
With 210kg wet weigh, I don’t really feel that the Supersport is heavy, daily rider, new riders and lady riders should feel very comfortable riding the Supersport whether in the city or twisty routes.
